thoreau | quiet :)

the only sound around this morning is the gentle tones of the windchime out on our porch. Miss Kate and I took a long sunny morning walk together in the park; and have just returned. Dave is still getting beauty sleep - I think he finally came to bed somewhere around 2 or 3am - I got up around 1am and went out and gave him a smooch; he was face first in several big thick math books. It's his bliss though, so yay! right?

This weekend is going to be lovely. The Palo Alto Arts Fair is this weekend. They transform the downtown corridor into a gigantic food and art fair for two days. Dave is still on the hunt for sculpture; so we'll hit every single booth giving it a good look. Then tonight? My friends Kirk and GingerSnap are coming over for tandoori chicken and mango fizzies. Kirk and Ginger are two of my favorite people - and I used to have dinner with them in the city when I was doing the commute. So Dave has never met either of them, and I thought it was time to change that. Kirk is a elementary school teacher at San Francisco Day School (in social studies and math) and Ginger is an amazing artist and high end art framing specialist. So - it'll be laughs and chatt-o-rama.

Tomorrow? I need to practice piano BADLY. and go shopping for a few items. Can you believe neither of us owns an iron? (with the end of 'wear a tshirt and jeans to work' - so I must go buy an iron to touch up my shirts and pants) I also want a buddha statue for our patio. and I need to look at some neato file organizing thingies to keep my work desk organized properly. (I'm already known for my 'man-planner' - my big leatherbound 8.5x11 Franklin Covey planner) I am sure work is going to be less gentle with me this coming week - so I need to rest up and be ready!
