7am on Thursday - and I'm up making coffee and getting ready to head to the train station. Dave and I have had the best time in Denver - from the Denver Art Museum to dinner last night with Connor
ubermunkey and Brett
septimuswarren to strolling through City Park. Denver is a lovely city.... Brett is a great host but (gasp!) he doesn't offer wireless or computer access. (the horror!) so you'll have to wait till I get back to San Francisco on Friday night to see the photos. But oh the photos - today we'll take the train up over the Rockies - sleep as it crosses the desert then over breakfast Friday? up over the Sierra Nevada mountains, I am so very excited. David and I proving to be remarkably good travelmates - and we're having the most romantic vacation I can ever remember having. Introducing him to Brett "I keep my silverware on the counter in a wicker basket because I'm a big old fag" James - has been one of the highlights. Brett is one of my oldest and dearest friends - we figured over dinner last night - we've been good friends for 22 years. Wowsers!
It was also a giant sized treat to finally meet Connor. After trading notes on LJ, chat sites and handwritten notes and letters for so many years - it was so rewarding to finally meet him in person. Besides being a sexy beast of a man (David, Brett and I agreed on that fact on the way home last night) he's sensitive, smart and laughs from the bottom of his soul. What a grand guy to call friend!
anyhoo - off to the train depot. TTFN.
(fruit on the bottom? strawberry? - an old yogurt commercial I used to terrorize Brett with when we worked at Boy Scout Camps together - now of course, since we're both about the fruit - its even funnier to sing together. Yes - being afraid at this point is probably wise)
