I thought tonight's "State of the Union" speech was a hit-it-out-of-the-ballpark moment for President Obama - who came in swinging at both parties in congress and at the supreme court justices sitting in front of him. He can't continue, in my opinion, to keep using the "I'm only trying to fix was eight years of Republican rule did to this country" line for very much longer - it gets him cheers in the Congress - but looks like a "don't look at me" line to everyone else. He did say he accepted responsibility for the mistakes made in his first year in office (something Bush never would have dreamed of doing) -- I hope the "look here, bitches" attitude of tonight's State of the Union carries over into some clubbing of Congress across both sides of the aisle. Time to actually accomplish stuff rather than that pander to pundits and headline grabs. Despite the slow pace of the change Obama brings to Washington; I still am hopeful. When the man speaks it makes me very proud to have voted for him; now I hope he can muster the will to make his accomplishments and actions speak just as loudly.
