Coraline is a lovely old-fashioned story told in a stunning three dimensional artistic fashion. I thought it was a charming well-told story. The 3D animation was gorgeous and pulled off with extra care to ever frame. Charmingly drawn characters, perfectly voiced. A big win in my book!

Dave liked it despite some flaws in the story that frustrated him. It's such a burden being both gorgeous AND smart - oh the crosses he has to bare. :)

Thank you Moviebears! It was a great night out. (boy howdy does Dave Hayes work tirelessly on that project)

We sat with Curtis ([livejournal.com profile] dr_scott) and Muriel ([livejournal.com profile] excessor). It was just fun acting like teenagers over the 3D glasses and them teasing me about my raisinettes. Those two are just WAY too adorable and sweet.

(Don't fuck with my raisinettes - I WILL CUT YOU!)

We went for milkshakes (we split a strawberry shake) with Phillip and Mike afterwards. Now Dave is reading and I'm getting ready for bed.

It's off to the Cliff House with the fine food feeding frenzy for brunch in the AM! :)

Check out the usage of "bear/bare"--we can tell where your mind is this weekend! :-)

I saw the trailer for this when I saw Bolt: 3D the other week, and it looks great...and I've already heard positive reports about it....

And of course, I LOVED "A Nightmare Before Christmas", so Coraline will be on my 'Must See' list! :-)

On Friday night, we caught The Making of Coraline, which showed how some of the scenes had been constructed. The attention to detail was amazing.

And yes, that was fun to sit with you two. I still have my 3D glasses.

Sounds like a perfect 24 hours. Not like I'm envious or anything. I have two friends who work at Laika...Can't wait to see Coraline.

With only one eye the 3D didn't pop, but I loved the show anyway.

David and I would love to have dinner sometime - or breakfast. :) Dave's up in town all weekend next weekend, perhaps we could do Stacks for breakfast on Saturday or Sunday of next week?
