I GOT YANKED IN AGAIN - what a time whore! In the last 24 hours I received 100 emails from Facebook! YIKES! I simply can't keep that up. I deactivated my account there. I simply can't allow it to become a significant time draw in my life. unbelievable! It feeds on my worst kinds of digital habits - and turns 'conversation' into tiny single sentence tidbit volleys. (big loud charlie brown style AAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH inserted here) I just need to make my time about other things.

Deactivated last Thursday. Just can't deal with the superficial level of contact and the brain draining game apps. It has uses, and many love it, but it's just not for me.

Mine just there fairly dormant. I.just.don't.have.the.time. Not much inclination, either. The superficiality is more than I can take. I have enough drains on my time that I cannot control (and stay employed).

Facebook is the time suck of the 21st century. What I do to control wasting time on it is turning off all those e mail notifications. I don't need to know when all my friends comment on every single thing. Makes me crazy about FB. I also do not join any groups or causes. That helps, too. Perhaps you'll return someday. Until then, anything is better than spending time there :)

I just get sucked in - and suddenly its all I'm doing for 1/2 an hour and I catch myself - - what the fuck? did I just burn that time away scrolling through "did I pick my nose quizzes?"

I just have to say no.

i think the difference between say - here and Facebook. is chatter vs. conversation. I'm going to stick with conversation and try and tune out the chatter side of Web 2.0. I'm not interested in a Twitter sized conversation. It's simply not meaty enough.

I turned off ALL notification e-mails.... and block literally EVERY silly game...!

And I have about 230 unanswered messaged in my FB 'inbox' sitting there... which is why I have the 'disclaimer' on my main page! :-)
