interview/new job update

today was intense! I delivered code samples (xml and javascript) to the recruiter at 10am - and they asked me to meet them at 11am for a quick face to face (the recruiters have a SF office that happens to be in the same building as the radio stations) -- and while I was in that meeting - they checked all of my references. I had "the chat" with my current boss - who admitted that she had no advancement opportunities nor any hope of offering me any sort of raise past perhaps 1% if and when the company undoes the salary freeze - - and that she doesn't see the company ever continuing the 401K matching - AND that she never sees getting budget again to give me any help in the form of more staff. and that she figured it was just a matter of time before I found a better opportunity. She said they would replace me with someone fresh out of college and probably lower my already insane low salary for my replacement. It was a very sobering honest chat - and makes it clear as a bell that a new job for me is the goal at this point. Entercom and the radio stations have been very good to me - but i really need to take the next step to managing a team and getting into some new technologies. Entercom is clearly not the place for that opportunity. so - the query and job interview today served two purposes. It showed me I could pass a code review with flying colours AND that I got three 5-star references from Entercom for the interview. We'll see what the next steps are.
