Well - I am having a very very restful trip. I am ready to head home tomorrow though. My three days at Hermit's Grove were amazing and very restful - and my time here in Seattle is very lovely. Last evening my friend George and I attended an amazing and intense play, "RUINED" By Lynn Nottage and Directed by Kate Whoriskey - at Intiman Theatre.

Intiman is such an amazing space - it is where I first saw Angels In America when I lived here. (1989-1999) RUINED is an amazing story of the lives of four women during a violent civil war in the Congo - and painfully paints the histories that had these women working in a whore house in between the two warring factions on a road that is apparently a key supply route for both sides of the conflict. If you live in Seattle or are visiting - it runs through August 15th; and in my opinion is a "not to be missed" theatre attraction.

Today - George and I walked through Discovery Park - the backdrop to my novel, House of Wolves and talked for hours on every conceivable subject from relationship to work to 'getting older' to our shared 'low screaming child' threshold.

I had hoped to head up to Oak Harbor (where I grew up) and the islands on this trip to attend some 25th high school reunion activities - but renting a car proved cost prohibitive coming at the peak of summer travel... so I did not head up there - not wanting to spend $200 on a car (with deposit and all).

anyhow - i'm having a tremendously relaxing time. :) It will be nice to be home with Dave and Miss Kate tomorrow evening.

Tonight - I'm cooking George dinner for being so nice to host me for a couple of days - (Tomato Vodka Cream Sauce Pasta with Roasted Pork Loin and Brussell Sprouts)
