working out at home

I use the bike ride home and the immediate (urgent!) Kateywalk when I get home as a cardio warm up - which means I can get right to it. Afterwards - I reward myself with a light dinner - usually fruit and either corn or broccoli but nothing too heavy.
I have been following my usual workouts - but did some research on bodybuilding.com on how to get the same muscle work but with dumbbells instead of a weight bar. Their site has dozens of workouts and instructional videos for form. and I've had good results doing their routine. This morning my chest is extremely upset with me - but that will pass the first time it gets a compliment from Dave about how nice it looks in a tshirt.
It's a strange thing in my life where things I used to crave to do in the company of other people, now take on a powerful new level of urgency and intensity when I'm doing them all by myself. Last night - I had a slight breeze running through the house, Shostakovish #5 on the stereo - and that is not a workout you will find at Golds. (I bet they could make a fortune on a naked Golds gym - but I digress) oh - thats the other thing - I can work out naked. which for some reason - makes me feel like "its just me and my body" - and I know that sounds like bullshit psychobabble claptrap (and maybe it is...) but, it felt like a real good connection to the commitment to build more muscle and treat my body with the respect it deserves.
It still feels like I'm so far from my goal (less tummy, bigger arms, etc.) - but I know that the steady pace and patience is going to turn the corner. Nothing gets done if you dream of working out but don't. :)
