Robert and David at the Moose Cafe in Mendocino, CA

Drove up through the countryside - laughing and chatting the whole way. Got to town - checked in but our cabin wasn't ready - so we wandered into Mendocino and had a FABULOUS lunch at the Moose Cafe. (seriously!) There was a wedding party that was like a "men's lunch" - of oh - 20 or 30 obviously gay men. Everyone dressed perfectly - loud laughing. and it like we'd never left San Francisco. We took Kateydog on a nice sniffpatrol through the Blackberry bushes and the coastal trail. Mendocino is very proud of it's native skunk population (they even have a "skunk train" you can take a ride on....) Our cabin is remarkable with a horizon to horizon view of the ocean. David and I are having a remarkable time - we're off to dinner in a bit.
Our lodging (The Inn At Schoolhouse Creek) is SOOOO dogfriendly! Katey got her own little care package - including the latest issue of BARK magazine (the modern dog culture magazine) and a new Bay area newspaper called "Bay Woof". It included an article "Heel, Sit, Stay - Beyond Obedience" that I figured maybe some of you might enjoy. (cackle)
The magazine and whole uber-dogfriendliness is nothing like I've seen for a cabin set up like this before. Even peanut butter treats and a nice pair of dog bowls for our stay. Miss Kate is just as "at home" as we are. Tomorrow we'll get out picture taking - perhaps take a run on the Skunk Train - (giggle) - we also are pondering a horseback ride on the beach depending on weather.
This little minibreak is exactly what the doctor ordered!
Bark and the boys
and wireless in our little cabin, Yay again!
