Sunday turned into a beautiful day of connecting with old friends, making new friends and connecting with friends to experience art and sunshine. I started off the day with Eric and Mark. Mark is visiting from Minneapolis and met Eric and I for coffee...

Mark from Minneapolis, Moi and Eric Maltman
Then I came home and cleaned house - and took two breaks to SERIOUSLY reconnect over the phone with three of my most favorite people in the world. First, Lance - (
althrman) - who I've known since June 1992 then Brett - (
septimuswarren) - who've I've known since 1986, and then Drew - (
bootedintexas) - whom - well.. he's been there since
the beginning.....
All of these phone conversations were long,
luxurious and delightful. All of them are doing SO SO well - - and are such dynamic special people. Humorously - Drew and I talked about how Joe (
joebehrsandiego) was in Houston - and Drew should invite him over to be
locked in the bathroom. (lol!)
Then I took Miss Kate for a long walk in the park followed by sitting against a tree in the park and starting "The Mayor of Castro Street: The Life and Times of Harvey Milk" by Randy Shilts. Lovely book! and a great time to re-read it.

Kirk (l) and Mr. P (r)
Then my friend Kirk picked me up and we met his impermeableness, Eric P. (forest ranger Eric)(pictured above) and Eric Maltman, for a walk through the Marie Antoinette exhibit at the Legion of Honor. The exhibit - by all accounts of the four of us that went - was a giant Yawn. They tried to create context - but it just wasn't there. It was a very weak exhibit. Holy Relics From Jerusalem and (separately) Anne Lebowitz photography are their next shows - - - and I'm sure they will be MUCH better.
On our way out of the park - I spied the San Francisco Holocaust Memorial. I posted pictures
here. I'd never noticed it before - and it was very moving.
Eric M. headed on to other social obligations - but Mr. P, Kirk and I went and had dinner at Tommy's Mexican restaurant on Geary. Then Kirk and I took a loverly walk through the Castro and Duboce Triangle with Miss Kate. It was a tremendous, beautiful sunshine filled, friendship filled day.
woof!
