I passed on the opportunity to audition for "Some Men" at NCTC. I want to spend the spring concentrating on the editing polish of House of Wolves and some new fitness goals. I have a hard time committing to a play that doesn't start rehearsing till April in December. there are just too many variables. It is hardly the last play ever right? But my gut tells me to pass on this one.

The Singing In The Rain Party was delightful. A little more lowkey than I was thinking it would be - but everyone seemed a little run ragged by parties here and work there - and just enjoyed an evening STOPPING and laughing our way through a great movie. I think "Auntie Mame" is next. :)

Before I forget - I had lunch on Friday with Pete [livejournal.com profile] quirkstreet! What a delightful guy - and we had fun talking and dishing over ahi sandwiches. It was lovely to finally get some quality face to face time with one of my most favorite LJers. :)

I'm in Palo Alto today - David and I are going to go see MILK - at the movie theater - then it's bookclub night - Dave's esoteric group of book friends. I didn't care for this month's selection honestly - we'll see what the next offering is.

Tonight was book club night - and we were asked to bring salad. I did a hearts of romaine salad with chunks of persmimmon, fuji apple, blackberry and craisins. I added a sprinkle of crumbled goat cheese and fresh walnuts. It was VERY good; I was worried about the lack of dressing. Since Weight Watchers I rarely if ever put dressing on a salad any more - but my worries were for nothing. It was a good recipe!

Persimmons are another fruit I've recently been learning about. They are delicious simply eaten as is - but were perfect in tonight's salad. This was the last of my box of fruit and vegetables - with a new one coming Wednesday. So - between the bokchoy, persimmons and leeks - - I've learned about three new winter foods. I'm having a great time with all this.
