1) Had a real long day at work today - so it felt good to meet my friend Abe for sushi - then head to Nude Male Sketch Group. What a grand group of guys - - - all different ability levels and body types - we each take turn modeling.
2) I have been experimenting with the camera in my 'bright'-phone. I took this self-portrait just south of San Mateo on the Caltrain in my crows nest solo-seat.
3) Dave gave me an interesting book called "What Einstein Told His Chef - the science of food" by Robert Wolcke. It's a collection of Wolcke's food science essays. and the problem with simply putting together a series of your columns - is if you mention "and since I'm a professor I'll say" in every single column - put together in one narrative it's like stopping to say "and because I'm totally awesome and need to talk down to you in every chapter". He has some interesting things to say about food and culture and the FDA rules on what constitutes this or that (the rules are frighteningly vague).
It's a fun book - but Wolcke's ego gets in the way a great deal.
