Boy howdy - hit the ground sprinting this morning. 5 projects signed sealed and delivered and it's not even 10am yet! WAHOO!
I had a blissful weekend of great friends - good food - and confirmations of a great universe. A friend of mine online introduced me to Doug - what now? a year or so ago - and he and I became fast friends despite him living in New Jersey and me in California. His amazing 9-year marriage to his partner Brian - and their story - is overtly romantic and so sweet - and on top of it - Doug and I seem to speak the same language. He called me in tears after reading my first novel - and has been the inspiration for a character in the 2nd. So I have been most happy when Doug announced he would add 4 days in San Francisco to the end of a business trip - to come meet Dave and I; and since he's a vet he was most excited to meet Miss Kate. Last night we took Doug along to Fine Food Feeding Frenzy - and I'll take Thursday off to go hiking in Muir Woods with him. (unfortunately Muir Woods is a "no dogs allowed" sort of adventure - so the Mrs. will stay at home. Tonight is his birthday - so Dave and I are deliberating on which restaurant to take him out to. Every once in a while you meet someone that you connect with on just about every level. I was floored two years ago when I met Dave that I'd met someone so 'in-sync' that really understands me and values me for ME - not some construct of their own. then to meet Doug on top of all of it - is a bit overwhelming honestly. I'm sure this is the first of many visits both here and to New Jersey/NYC. I'm so glad he decided to visit... in person he's everything and more than he was writing letters back and forth.
Here's a photo of Doug and Brian at their wedding:

The universe sure delivered in this case. :) it's great to meet him in person.
He'll be touristing around SF during the day - and riding the train to and from all week with me. It'll be nice to have him along.
what a terribly blessed thing to make such a good friend.
