my cold hit hard as I tried to lay down last night. sniffles, aches, fever - BLECH! I took some sudafed about midnight and that helped me sleep. I was up at 3am just stretch - my body was UNHAPPY. but I got back into bed around 4pm - and Dave curled up behind me - and Miss Kate got up on the bed and curled up against my chest like a hot water bottle...(only much furrier) and I slept in till just a few minutes ago. (yay!) Just got out of a hot hot hot shower - and I think I'll take it easy this morning.

This afternoon is my first piano recital (I'm playing "Rainbow Connection" and the Eagle's tune "Desperado") with all of Alita's adult students (about 20 apparently) and because I have more room than at her apartment - we are hosting it here. So Potluck - then 20 pieces on the piano. David is probably going to have to "go into work" - than be endure 2 hours or so of piano students performing in his living room.

it feels like the trees turned in the blink of an eye.

Meet Milly - - a whippet miniature poodle mix - one of Miss Kate's morning walk playmates at the elementary school soccer field....

Today I reluctantly layed low doing battle with the 'cold of minor inconvenience.' The only tasks accomplished were walking the dog - and picking up my dry cleaning - other than that - - - in fact took a long nap around noon - and then spruced up and played host to the piano party.

The party was a great success... I was glad to host it for Alita. It was a gas meeting all the other adult students and sharing our different levels of ability and some were worried about playing in front of a group. but it quickly relaxed (thanks to some strategically poured merlot) and we all had a ball.

One of the other students and his partner run an interior design business - and were extremely charming.

but - I tell ya - after cleaning up afterward... I'm tuckerwhacked. Done! over! my cold is still very much here - so I'm going to walknzepuppeh - and get myself to bed.

Dave, my knight in shining armour -- is off at the grocery store restocking my OJ, buying granola and getting ground coffee - - all of which simultaneously ran out this morning.

Tomorrow - we are having Kent Forrester [livejournal.com profile] kent4str for dinner - I mean - over for dinner. So - Gluten Free Extra-Vaganza! Gluten free crackers with salami and cheese for appetizers; thick cut pork steaks on ze'bbq, mashed yams and steamed broccoli and some sort of notflour based chocolate death for dessert. but that will wait till tomorrow.
