I wrote in my handwritten journal this morning about language. How it seems (to me) that people apply in person familiarity via the internet with people they are likely never to meet. How conversations that sound fun and witty in person; when written down - or written down and read on a Fb stream of comments, reads as mean and bitchy. It is something I'm thinking a lot about lately. Are we losing sight of the impact of our words? Since we've become an email world vs. a world of pen pals with handwritten letters - are we losing quality for the sake of quantity?

Smithsonian Magazine estimates that there are 1.4 billion new blog posts daily. Are we leading with our best ideas? are we talking about things we're passionate about? or are we pushing around and publishing minutiae and avoiding deeper topics?

what do ya'll think?
