the universe does not make it easy

so - after the gym tonight - I snacked on my favorite thing, kapha tea and gingersnap cookies. Good old fashioned Nabisco ginger snaps :) I had three.

So - being the good Weight Watchers boy that I am - lets convert it into points. Here's where it gets difficult... the serving size on the box is 28g. Do they really think people think to the themselves, "Self - I think I'll have 28g of ginger snaps with my tea!?"

Who the hell thinks nutritionally about ounces and grams? (besides, apparently, Nabisco) - it says in a 16oz box of ginger snaps there are 16 28g servings. Blah! so there are 16 - 1 oz servings in a box - at 120 calories per serving. An "ounce" of ginger snap does me no good either.

Whatever that means - I think its meaning to me that I can have a few ginger snaps with my tea and not ruin my diet goals.




Kapha tea by the way - is a delicious mix of cardamom, saffron, fennel, cloves & ginger. It's becoming my daily habit to drink a cup before bed.

Aerogarden Tomatoes - Week 10

It's week 10 - and the tomatoes are going BONKERS!

It was time for a waterbath. the owners manual says that "your aerogarden loves fresh water every few weeks" - so we cleaned out - and put in fresh water plus "tomato food" - here is a shot of the root system growing underneath our tomatoes. (see picture below) but we're now just three weeks away from ripening red tomatoes on the vine. I'm so excited!!
