Hit The Hairrison fair today - saw bazillion ljers in every direction - and the band - (while I was there anyway) was the most annoying heavy metal stuff I've heard. The lead "singer" literally sat in front of the microphone screaming "shit, shit, shit" over and over. Inspired lyrics.

For San Francisco? It was DAMN hot out there today - but there was lots of eye candy. I saw lots of friends and took a few photos. :) some of which 'll end up on the photo wall here at the house.

Yay!3

The best moment came when I explained to the ladies at the 957thewolf.com booth (one of the radio stations I work at) - what a Bear was - and that as the beer flowed - the shirts and pants would come off. They were both 20-22 year old girls who had never been to a gay event before. MAJOR hysterical to watch. I was really excited to see the WOLF there though - it's amazing how many people STILL don't know that we know have (radio announcer voice) 95 point 7 FM - THE WOLF - THE BAY AREA'S FRESH COUNTRY - AROOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (end radio announcer voice) for your listening pleasure. The good news is that this is the first of many gay events 'The Wolf' will be seen at. Rock on croutons!

I came home after a long long long long walk - I had never really explored the mission - so I walked from Hairrison - down Folsom - then up 20th through the mission - looking at shops, getting gelato - and slowly meandering my way home.

It was nice to get home and have a phone message from the buddy I had the nice play date with last weekend - asking if I'd like to have a repeat date - but switch positions. Nice. He's on his way over! probably no great ephinany posts about it like last time - but I've got a nice comfortable smile on my face over it.

yum3

I also - started some new art this weekend. not digital - but paints and pigments. nothing I want to photograph yet... but woof. It's BIG BIG BIG. (in inches and in the thought behind it)

superyay3

So are the WOLF, different from the majority of the country radio stations in this country? You know, the gay bashing/george W. lovin types of radio stations? Do they play the Dixie Chicks? (umm,I'd bet NOT, even though 'Taking the Long Way' has 10 great songs that should have gotten airplay.) Why show up at a gay event when they have artists in rotation who are pretty good gay bashers. At least I know where I stand with the Dixie Chicks, and Garth Brooks (who is gay supportive because of his Lesbian sister, Betsy.)

The station is not type-A country. it's a fun inclusive format in my opinion. We do play the Dixie chicks - and Garth. Actually Garth is featured on our website right now. :) Our morning show features commentary on banning gay men from donating blood vs. GO BUSH GO

It's the bay area - and that kind of radio wouldn't last long here. so it is a very different kind of country station.

Can I tell you what a delightful human being I think you are? There... I just did. I so enjoy reading your LJ and getting a peek inside who you are. Thank you for being you.

Thats good to hear. I would hope they go out of their way NOT to be like the typical 100 other country stations run by Clear Channel. I hope they also feature Rosanne Cash's album Black Cadillac, and songs from Lyle Lovett, and k.d.lang in their format.
