thoreauSo - tonight I came home and made Miss Kate dinner - just as the doctor prescribed. Rice and cottage cheese - I set it down - doing my most charming french waiter impression - just like this morning. and she sniffs the bowl and looks over at me like "what is this shit?" I died laughing - it wasn't a look of "is that all there is? I want more?" but it was a distinct look of "This is totally not what I ordered."
I said without really missing a beat through a giggle "too much cottage cheese, madam?" and she snuffed at me as if to say "Duh - now missy - is it too much trouble to get 'this' out of my face and go remake this bowl of food... and make it snappy."
I did - and with a 3 to 1 rice to cottage cheese ratio - I was rewarded with watching my darlin' snaffle up the whole serving. She licked her lips and then my face. I was very pleased! I will have to consult with the chef to make sure madam's plate is properly served up in future.
