So this morning's alarm went off - and I headed off in the dark to Havatha Yoga at Golds. I got back - and Miss Kate was snuggled up in the comforter snoring. I took a shower - then came back and chatted with her a bit - - - asked her how she slept - and what might the kitchen prepare for her this morning.

She sorta lazily looked up like "what - ever" (giggle) that is until I got to the kitchen and started serving up some rice and cottage cheese. She leapt off the bed and was doing the patented Katey Circle Dancetm - and she was quickly face first in Rice Cottage Cheese Surprise with a metoclopramide (anti-nausea) chaser.

I was a little concerned at how fast she ate... but it was only about 1/4 cup of food. so now we'll hang out - go for morning walkies together and see if she keeps it down and remains 'happy puppy.'

I am so affected by Auntie Mame - I literally said to her - "We need to go the Coffee Shop, Miss Kate, Mommy needs fuel." How did I live before having the knowledge of these two films? It's like the Star Trek episode "spocks brain" where they download all that knowledge into McCoy's head.

Off to find double nonfat no-whip mocha-age....

My friend Jeff IS Auntie Mame. A heart of solid gold wrapped up in the blitz of world traveling, stage, art, technology and romance. He has a nephew that he treats as if he were his own. He takes him to Europe, helps him avoid the pitfalls of life and make sure that nothing stands in the way of his education. What a great uncle, or more appropriately, auntie!

Ha! Not only did I see both movie versions before I was 20, I also helped with props in a community theater version of the musical...in a round theater....with a bitch playing Mame....and chorus boys with gay attitude...

My advice... "let Mame go".

I heart Mame (Russell not Ball).
I discovered the movie at like 3am when I was 20 or so.
It totally changed my perspective on things much in the same way "Harold and Maude" did.

[livejournal.com profile] septimuswarren swears that Harold and Maude changed his life. He shows it to anyone who will watch. :)

I wonder if I'll look back on my 40th birthday - as when I saw these two movies the first time? and suddenly the world made perfect sense to me.

I have always been the perfect example of restraint and using my powers for 'good' - - why on earth would I change that now?

I am so glad to hear Katey Dog is doing better :) It sounds like she is enjoying her cottage cheese with extra drugs.

I'm so glad to hear Miss Kate is doing better (and you too). As for "Mame," I love that movie, both versions (yes, I'm one of those people who appreciated Lucille Ball in the role too).
