if I may toss my hat in the ring. I think that the path of integrity itself is self-referential, only the individual person (in comparison with other persons) can know whether or not they truly acted with integrity, regardless of their outward behavior. That said I think there are "fruits" of integrity that are visible to others over time. Trustworthiness, and responsibility being two that come immediately to mind.
I like truthfeather's take on what integrity the qoute refers to. I mean - if you know you acted for yourself with integrity - meaning totally authentically, no lying, no ethical quandry - - then it's the right path. But all things in life are relative and in the end - you own personal path is for you to own - and then push up daisies when your done. I think also that if you live with personal integrity - you'll never have regrets or the wouldacouldashoulda complex ruling your life.
