so - today I woke up with my left eye glued shut. The prime symptom of a sty. Ugh. Besides being just plain gross - stys are inconvenient - as it keeps me from reading or computing for too long. Straining to use the eyes - not such a smart idea. it causes headaches and all sorts o' stuff. So it also kept me from hitting the art store and doing the MLK art thang. I was moaning a little with
bukephalus and he encouraged me to get out and do SOMETHING creative today. (good man!) around dinner time a big rain storm hit - and I took the camera out and shot some video of the rain - then took a walk out in the neighborhood afterwards to see what was out and about. I found a oil canvas out in the rain - with red teacher marks on it - like a student had been graded. it was very interesting - and well - I left it on the doorstep by where I found it out of the rain. I walked by the dress shop at the end of the block - where the drag queen who is my neighbor gets his dresses fitted - walked up to Haight - and picked up a chocolate malted at "Burger Joint" and came back home. I was sitting here at the 'puter briefly - thinking what I could do - I really wanted to respond to my friend's suggestion. and just then the Deborah Cox cover of "Look to the Rainbow" came on my stereo. and voila - the result is a 1:55 video with the rainstorm footage and my walkabout. Nothing Academy Award winning - and it's edited quickly because well... my eye is getting uncomfy again.
But here it is nonetheless.... for Mr. Bukephalus - - - 1 minute, 55 seconds:
