Here goes: He loves me for who I am no matter what, where or how. I don't have to "be" for David. I can just be me, whether it's on a beach in Hawaii or buying cat litter. That is a rare find.

MEATLOAF! Wrapped in lovely greasy delectable bacon with a tasty gravy with a filling, satisfying inside.
This is about as random as it comes - LOL! I just thought - if Jim were a favorite dish what he be and VOILA! Meatloaf. Its that food you can always count on for a flavorgasm and a good satisfying feeling afterwards.

You introduced me to FOOD YOU CAN EAT - so you - of course - ROCK. But my favorite memory is your post about the Santa # you choreographed for NYGMC. I was in the SMC 1988-1999 and have many memories including performing on that stage at Carnegie at the gay games.

Date: 2008-01-28 09:42 pm (UTC)hmmmm a true French creme brulee where the brown sugar is uniformly caramelized with a hot salamander (like a branding iron) in the shape of the ramikin. unfortunately nobody does it like that anymore. They all use a blow torch and the brown sugar is unevenly melted and it tends to bubble up and not form that beautiful thick caramelized top that crunches when you dig into it.
A true French restaurant in Philadelphia in 1985 did it that way when I was a waiter there and no creme brulee since has ever come close to it's rich thick custardiness and it's perfect caramelized brown sugar top. One here in NY came really close in taste, but they lost points for the blowtorched top. Plus the propane adds a chemical taste to the brown sugar, too, YUCK!!!!
