weekend update
Mar. 23rd, 2008 03:21 pmYesterday was date #2 with Dr. Goldberg (a PhD in Mathematics and the boy does it ever show in every single thing he does). I had never gotten off the freeway much in Palo Alto - and was surprised actually at how much it reminded me of Boise. Very neighborhoody, big lush trees everywhere. But foofier - and higher brow than Boise. (like that is hard?)
David and I had a lovely lovely time. We've already established that there is a clash between his sense of "having a plan" (being stuck in a rut) and my "in the moment spontaneity" (indecisive constantly changing ideas) I asked him what his evening was after I left this morning - and he literally said "at exactly 345pm - I'll pick up my sandwich - and then go home - and leave for Sundance at 4:55, and dance and be home about 11:20" - My afternoon? "oh - wander up to see a web client then hangout with miss kate - do some housecleaning, maybe, lj, email - then theater later" LOL! He's so handsome and sweet though, we're having an incredible time getting to know one another. We've left it open ended to plan next weekend. (giggle)
A highlight of yesterday was visiting Paul and Curtis, (
dr_scott & Mrs.
dr_scott) in their Santa Clara uber-house. As usual they both looked really great - and we had a lovely chat over Peets Coffee. (Peets is offering a signature blend right now called "Major Dickinson" blend - which I terrorize the girls at work "I had a some hot steaming Major Dick at Peets this morning.")
Curtis was kind enough to explain me how someone "joins the square dance cult" - and we discussed how Dave (Dr. G) is a "challenge dancer".
"Challenge Dancing" is vaguely defined as sadism for square dancers where all the calls are learned telepathically with none of it written down. apparently by that level you ascend and transform into a new kind of human being.
Its all very confusing.
Now a few hours downtime before going to see the closing night show of "Judy Gold: 25 Questions for a Jewish Mother." (the perfect way to end Easter Weekend)
