@ Bean There with Tommy [livejournal.com profile] notdefined and I

After meeting Tommy ([livejournal.com profile] notdefined) for a nosh and coffee - - - David and I headed over to the grind - - sharing breakfast together. He had a denver omellete - and I splurged on a belgian waffle plate with nutella and strawberries (OMG!)

Belgian Waffle Platter with Nutella and Strawberries

Both of us stuffed, David and I went on our first stairwalk hike in SF. Jeff, ([livejournal.com profile] beg1n) Gym Buddy Extraordinaire, suggested we photodocument our hikes. and who am I to say no to such a request! (Hi Jeff, *waving*)

so without any further ado:

Stairwalk #1: Noe Valley!

Today we started at 24th and Church after a short J line ride, and walked up one of the steepest hills in SF (24th to Vicksburg) - a 32% grade.

1/2 way up the grade on the 24th Street steps to Vicksburg

Great start on an fun hike... from there we followed 24th to Noe - headed down to Liberty and went up then back down the liberty street stairs -

The Liberty Street Stairs up from Noe Street

then back to 24th till it deadends - and down the steps to Diamond street - we turned onto Elizabeth which then led to the stairs up to Grandview

The Grandview Steps on Elizabeth Street

The Western Turret on the walkway over Market Street from Grandview

- and after taking in the view of the city - we came back down through the neighborhood down the Corwin steps - through the Castro - and back home. Now we're hanging out for a while before picking Miss Kate up from the spa at 3pm :)

It is an astoundingly beautiful day outside - and we had a great time. We had lovely Joe and Chris ([livejournal.com profile] capy) encounter in the 'Stro - and now are back at CasaDeMuffin with the windows open and sharing a breeze. :) (and a nectarine Honest Tea)

After we pick up Miss Kate from the spa - it's David's turn - he'll head off to get a beard trim and haircut- and I'll start making dinner. (Chipotle (sp?) Meatloaf (thanks [livejournal.com profile] abearius for the idea!)) Meatloaf, Salad and fruit and Tony and Paully over for Tim Burton's SWEENEY TODD.

David suggested that adorable pictures of him should be posted AFTER his haircut and beard trim. :) More to come.....

We were walking through Center City Philadelphia last week. Stopped in a French cafe shop and saw a jar of Nutella the size of your head!

Awesome!

One of my friends lived at 24th and Grandview during his time in SF. This post brought back some nice memories of visitng him and discovering the (to me back then) completely suprising fact of stairways as part of the street grid. :)

Your time w/David sounds so fun/pleasant/sexy/healthy. All the best - the future details will be fine, whatever they are.

I had a book on San Francisco stairway walks when I lived in the bay area and would use it for weekend excursions. It was a fun thing to do. Of course, that was when I was married and living on seafood.

Is it just me, or does your waffle platter look like a Jackson Pollock painting?

Probably. I can't imagine there are that many. If it is the one I had the cover has been redesigned.

David is one of the few men I've ever met in a romantic fashion that I really feel like there is no pretext - no shields or machinations going on. The stair walk was the first of many adventures. We're communicating clearly - and honestly. The HIV discussion and definitions of "safe" for example has been really healthy and without emotional outbursts. He's clearly brilliant and adorable - and I'm working really hard just to look to next WEEKEND - not next MONTH - not next YEAR; but simply next weekend. :) I think you'd like him a lot.
