Jun. 14th, 2008 11:39 pmDavid and I started off the day with a lazy morning around the apartment and a breakfast out followed by massages with Paul Brown. (
bigredpaul) We both enjoyed how he includes stretches in his massage - and we both came out feeling refreshed. so what did we do next? Shopping!
We went back and looked at the rattan reading chair and decided that it was a no go. but we did pick up the four Debbie chairs for the dining table. They are perfect - and very comfortable. but - the search is still on for the ultimate reading chair for the Muffin Penthousetm.
We came back and started cooking up as storm. Tonight David and I hosted The Michaels (aka Mr. and Mrs.
bibliocub) over - along with our friend Kirk - and I made dinner. I served prosciutto wrapped asparagus and white wine to get things started followed by seared ahi tuna steaks with a roasted corn and mango succotash, and a scoop of wild rice. The ahi was REALLY high quality - I went down to the Embaracadero Farmers Market to get it - and wow was it beautiful! I seasoned it with cardamon and cracked pepper and it came out perfectly. I served with a mango/papaya salsa (too much red pepper!) and the succotash. David said each dish on it's own was wonderful - but that perhaps it wasn't the best mash up. (plus my wild rice wasn't quite done....) So - a couple of new things to try again another time. I am thinking the roasted corn with mango might be nice with chicken over a salad. who knows. David was very kind to tell me he loves my cooking - but wanted to give "constructive advice." We sat together and watched "Living Out Loud" with Danny Devito and Holly Hunter - - which is a favorite movie. It's my third strike with David on movies - as he didn't really think it was "all that." It seems we have very different tastes in movies. Kirk brought Milano cookies and three different kinds of delicious fruit sorbet. so we desserted out and watched the movie. The boys went home and David and I watched an episode of BSG online (last week's hub destroyer) and now we're off to bed.
