the William Remington style sculpture "bucking harley" outside the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, WI
So - this afternoon we visited the Harley Davidson Museum with David's sister Laurie, brother in law Steve and nephew Gehrsh. (Ge-ar-sh) While not necessarily my first choice - the bikes were an 'art form' of their own and it was interesting to see the evolution of the motorbike - and how WW2 forced the evolution of several innovations. They also had a fantastic gallery of bikes year to year - the entire line. including one of the first bikes to come off the line. It was great to do something with Dave's sister who was VERY excited to do. All of the employees were extremely knowledgeable and it was very friendly. We went to try and see the new Milwaukee Art Museum next - but it was closed for a private wedding. (disappointed!) But - it is a beautiful modern building.... and I fell in love with it as the building "spread it's wings" - the roof of the building literally rising and taking flight. Beautiful!

Tonight we went to dinner at Laurie's favorite Italian place; and while Steve and I watch violent shoot'emup spy recipes in the den and play on our computers - - Dave and Laurie are scanning David's favorite recipes from his mother's old recipe file ("The" Chocolate Cake and Matzoh Ball Soup with "schmaltz" (rendered chicken fat? yikes!?)) so I guess I'll be cooking like a Jewish Mother soon. Oivey! (Michael Levy?
Tomorrow? Off to Chicago tomorrow on the 11am train to meet David's cousin Laurie - and see a production of "The Portrait of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde.
Having a great time!
