exploring with David and Miss Kate

This was just the most restful vacation-like weekend I've had in a very long time. David and I spend four lovely days together, I got to cook up a storm - and today we capped it off with yet another "stairway walk of San Francisco" - this time visiting the Forest Hills neighborhood. We walked around and up stairwells - and Miss Kate came along and did really very well.

We had a couple of lovely chats with homeowners - one whose home is mentioned in the guidebook. He said in the years since his house was featured - he's had dozens of plants stolen from his garden - so that now - his award winning landscaping is now all common plants. He says while he felt nice originally being noticed - that it made his garden a crime scene - he's not as please now as he was originally. But - he was very friendly and told us to expect the bill for taking pictures of his home.



The walk then took us around with a unique view of the reservoir at Laguna Honda - and then back up the hill for some spectacular bridge views and views south into the coastal mountains.

David was the photographer today - it was fun to see him click away - and let me worry about the backpack and Miss Kate.

David and I have decided to end the weekend with a trip to Zuni for "Zuni Chicken" - I'm excited. :)
