A few LJers out there (
cuboz,
dewittar, etc.) wanted to see the new clothing choices I made out and about yesterday - here is shirt #1. It defies colour explanation currently - charcoal blue? (
profkampf?) When I was a kid - being a twin - - my parents decided it easier to colour code us. Drew (
bootedintexas) wore blues and reds and I wore greens and browns. To this day - I wonder if my response to the favorite colour question is "green" simply because I was color coded and not allowed to "like" blue or red. I really love this shirt but honestly - everytime I wear blue or red - I look in the mirror and see my brother not myself. (and thats not a bad thing necessarily- as he's a pretty spiffy guy!) It's interesting how ghosts of that childhood creep in - even 25 years later.

And a night at the bar would deem all buttons undone for revealing one's fur, methinks! :-)

Date: 2008-12-21 08:10 pm (UTC)knit shirts like this used to be forbidden as they'd turn into giant topographical fashion disasters. Its nice to try new things. :) This'll prolly shrink a little first wash - so I bought it a slight it big. :) It shows the tuft of hair on the top of my back nicely though - even all done up in front. (wink)

Date: 2008-12-21 11:37 pm (UTC)I have a similar bit of color-related baggage. My father had a habit of referring to anyone who bought a red car as a "frustrated fireman". To this day I have never even considered> red when I've selected a car color. It's funny what sticks with you from your childhood.
