Many more photos (and perhaps a few stories to tell later) but..

John(Eric), George(Brian), Ringo(me!) and Paul(Mark)

Fun, amazing weekends like that are why I joined the SFGMC!

There was a great professional photographer at retreat, Shaun Northcutt, who shot some great shots of us as the Beatles. and we were also featured in a promotional video shoot for the upcoming sixties-themed concert we're doing.

Must nap. but more later!

These are awesome photos - and outfits.

Out of curiousity ... does SFGMC have an "inventory" of outfits/costumes ... or are they rented ... or?

this was for the costume contest - and the four of us rented them for the weekend. Pretty spiffy!

Festive!

What depresses me is that there are folk of the younger generation who will have absolutely no idea what is being referenced here...

My brain must be mis-wired. For some reason "Penny Lane" keeps bouncing around my head, not the song associated with those costumes...

So how are you liking singing for Tim?

good - I think we're gong to have a great show honestly. I worry that his changes will simply revert though once he leaves. That worries me a lot.

I do not like to think about how the TCC has changed since he "retired".

I think Tim is really a one-of-a-kind --- he's amazing to learn from. and SFGMC is suffering from a great many members of the choir over the freshness factor of Kathleen (who is on sabbatical) - and its unfortunately refreshing the "isn't it great having a "man" on the podium" discussions and unfortunate stuff like that. He'll leave after the concert on May 22nd - and how the chorus responds and returns for the fall - will probably determine my ongoing participation. We'll see. :) that said - I had a friggin' great time at retreat.

Tim is inspiring for sure - by far the finest choral conductor for whom I have ever sung. That kind of talk under the surface concerning Kathleen is unfortunate as I think she is a fine conductor. SFGMC gospel set at Montreal Festival was one of the highlights for me that year.

It's interesting because these same people will say the SAME thing - that Kathleen is an amazing conductor. But her people skills (or lack thereof) off the podium and few other things are effecting her "freshness" factor with the chorus.

Could you sing "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" but substitute another part of my anatomy instead of hand?

absolutely :)

Is that who the costumes are supposed to suggest and represent?

Oddly, though I'm the right age, I never paid much attention to the Beatles after "I Wanna Hold Your Hand". I couldn't imagine why you four were dressed like that at a retreat. LOL!
