Well - finally at the office from the vampire visit. They cut the mole off next to my right eye - and froze off six or seven other smaller "moles of interest." He said "They'll turn black and flake off in the next few days" - wow - that is an attractive top-drawer look huh? it was weird to first smell my flesh burning as he cauterized the skin where bigger mole came off with the cutting then to feel my skin burn and freeze with the 2nd procedure. We took a few vials of blood to check all my 'stuff' - and sent the mole off in a jar for a biopsy. Hopefully all my counts will come back stable (my t-cells have been in the 600-800 range for five years now) - and we'll get my first 'cholesterol and all that jazz' numbers. :)

Well, we always knew you were flaky! *ba-dum TISH*

Seriously, though, I'm glad they were able to remove them so easily. Best to get them now. I'm sure your cholesterol will be fine.

I've had more than 100 pre-cancers frozen off over the past twenty years. I'd rather that then the alternative. Glad you took care of it.

Were the mole removal procedures painful?

they stung, first the needle to numb my face - then he cut the mole off and I didn't feel a thing... the freezing stuff just stung for a moment - most uncomfortable was the sensation of smelling burning flesh and realizing it was all mine.

*sniff*
*sniff*

Smells like chicken in here.

When I had a bunch of stuff burned off, I sniffed the air and said, "Smells like bacon." My dermatologist looked at me said, "Don't you mean 'chicken'?" I told him, "You've never heard of a sex pig?"

He had to put down the electrocauterizer to laugh for a good ten minutes.

I love having a gay dermatologist.

[livejournal.com profile] bibliocub just had the same procedure on Monday for an unexplained growth on his nose. He described similar sensations with the numbing shot, the cutting, and the smell of seared flesh when they cauterized. "Did it make you hungry?", I asked. :-)

We should have the biopsy results in a week. They don't think it's cancerous because it was a single growth.

I hope you had them check your tire pressure and wheel balance while you were there. The cheaper garages will try to skimp on the smaller details. :-)

I have these little skin tags under my arms that I occasionally get burned off if they get too big. Nothing is as gross as burning flesh.

Ross had a cancerous growth on his ear, and he took his time with getting it looked to. Finally, about 3-4 months ago, he wandered off to the doc. The doc prescribed a lotion--5 days on, 2 days off for 3 weeks or something like that.

It blistered and was summat painful, and then it sorted of crusted up and came off and disappeared!

Lotion that can attack cancer cells--just imagine!

You'll be fine, Bob, but do let us know the results of the biopsy, etc.
