That is the most beautiful ending I could have imagined. Simply beautiful writing, imagination and execution. Simply some of the best television I've ever seen.

*SPOILERS WILL BE IN THE COMMENTS, IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE SERIES FINALE DO NOT READ THE COMMENTS*

Definitely a good show. I thought towards the end was a little sappy but enjoyed the very end when modern day Earth is shown.

I agree with you completely. I was QUITE satisfied with the final episode. The big space battle in the first hour was absolutely astonishing; obviously the producers threw every last dime of their budget at the special effects. And finally arriving at OUR Earth some 150,000 years past? Works for me.

A few lingering questions, perhaps .... such as the exact nature of Kara Thrace and the Baltar/Caprica6 doppelgangers ... but HEY. How many TV series can you say came to such a succinct conclusion?

exactly - and (for me anyway) such a drop dead romantic one. I love that Kara just "evaporated". :) I was dissapointed that Cavil didn't come to a more drawn out end. It seemed a scapegoat answer to let him shoot himself in the mouth in the CIC. and I also don't understand why Adama left Lee and set up shop by himself so far away - that seemed extremely overdramatic. and it leaves Lee alone in the grasses of Africa to 'explore'.

Because of all the hoohaw you all raised, I watched the last 45 minutes of the show last night. I've never seen it, so you can imagine I was a bit lost! ;-)

I'm sure you WERE lost! And in a way, I'm sorry the last 45 minutes of the series is the only part of BSG you've ever seen, because what's the point in ever watching it if you know how it's going to end? Although there were subplots, the series was essentially one five-year-long story arc. AND YET, I would still recommend renting the DVDs, because if you like sci-fi, it's really a great show.

I am VERY satisfied. Will write more later today. A lot of the images & messages stayed with me during the night - had a fairly fitful sleep as a result. A lot to chew on. Ranks with the finale of " Six Feet Under" as best. Finale. EVAH...! :-)

I thought the final episode was great! Only at teeny-tiny bit disappointed that there wasn't yet another surprising revelation, but loved it when Galen got Tory. Was hoping there'd be a little more on the Daniel and Kara's dad thing but I suppose they figured the obvious implication was good enough.

Now what to watch on Fridays? :)

Yeah - I thought that they would flesh out "what is starbuck?" a little more since she's been such a central character. but the closer we got to the end - I turned to my buddy who was watching and said "she is simply going to evaporate" LOL. what a kick in the pants!

I have to admit I had some problems watching the finale, but it was because of the violent camera work. Not that the cameras were ever all that "locked down" in other episodes, it was just very intense for me visually.

Loved the episode though.

Oh, and wasn't Lara Roslin's old student/date/boytoy just ever-so-slightly yummy?

Roslin's young man was BLAZING HOT!!

I'm saddest for Tory (and for Cavil's demise shortly thereafter), but the way they set it up with Tory trying to hem and haw, you had to see it coming.

I didn't see it coming at all - and it was AWESOME - I thought Tory would eventually answer for that crime.

I thought they gave Cavil WAY too easy an out - as the villian of the ENTIRE series - he got off WAY too easy.

I was pretty happy with the finale as well.

I took Cavil's way out as a reflection of who he is: a petty man who can't see beyond himself. (By the way, you know that cavil is a word, didn't you?)

I loved how nervous Tory looked. Curtis said, “Don't you think she'd move to the other side before putting her hand in?” Not real bright, that one.

I feel like I missed some point there. What was she deciding between? Sex vs. politics? Totally hot, but I got confused when she kicked him out.

Loved it. I had the sound system cranked up full blast. Incredible fire fight at the end, but I got all emo at the end. It gave me a lot of things to think about.

I just finished the finale. Loved it. Thought it was a well written and good ending to a wonderful series. I am glad the series did go on too long - "jumping the shark" at some point. I would like to have known who Kara was and did the Cylon colony get swallowed by the black hole? Cmdr. Adama and Laura's ending was sweet.

Even so I can accept some questions shouldn't be answered. I thought the last minute reference to present day was great...here we go again.

I was in awe over the ending. Even a few little tears fell during the finale. LOVE the music too. Looking forward to the BSG movie and Caprica.

Our Bunch o' Bears loved it!

It was nice and juicy, satisfying, and left *just enough* mystery!
