I'm decided to take a real look at the negative affects of social media like LJ and Facebook - I'm going to probably take a giant step back away from it.

First of - its all very addictive to me - and I need to think about it's role in my life and how to reign it in a little. Second - there is a lot of anger and snark out on the internet that I continually get drawn into and it ends up causing a lot of bad things emotionally.

I know that a lot of you are connected to me only on Facebook or LJ - but I simply can't spend the amount of time I spend on line scrolling through pictures and feeling less and less truly connected to any of it.

I need less input for a while. I'm concentrating on rewriting House of Wolves and rejoining the characters and story in my 2nd novel. My relationship with David is strong.

as a friend of mine that I traded notes about this decision with - I'm suffering from a mild case of "digital poisoning" and need to just step back a little.

so I won't DELETE my profile - I'll still be here - but I think for a while I'll make LJ a once a week thing or perhaps every OTHER week. I just can't do it as a daily thing any longer.
