OMG. My first day working retail - and let me tell you - - - IT's hard work. I worked 4 hours at the information desk and "free gift wrapping" station. and when my modern oragami omg I wrap presents like a two year old skills were discovered - I was moved to the front desk and ran the register for the rest of my shift.

I need new shoes... Mommy's feet are a hurtin' tonight! so I'll go shopping for some supportive standing shoes this week. I will work one weekday evening 7pm to close - then one weekend day - 10 to 6. I am going to have a ball!

But - the parade of men all day long (working in a bookstore in the castro rocks!) was delightful - lots of just plain GORGEOUS men all day long. (many of whom didn't recognize me clean shaven so I get plenty of "oh - new meat in town" looks) (yay!)

It's a very small intimate store - with a very small staff. so I got right into the deepend in my first day. One woman who tried to give me 'tude over not having a book that's been out of print since 1996 - two kids who tried to take DVDs... I saw them behind me on the security camera - and I literally said out loud "Missy - you put that DVD back or I'll break your arm" - Apparently that sounded butch enough for them to comply. LOL! go me! who knew I could be butch? as long as I stood still and didn't open my mouth The manager was right behind me - and let out a little giggle as they left the store. and whispered to me.. "Missy?" and laughed his way to the back of the store.

[livejournal.com profile] castrowoof came in the store - looking as adorable as always - and his friend bought lots of books. :)

Miss Kate and I strolled up to get a cheesesteak sandwich with extra jalepenos and a snapple. We're now sitting here listening to LangLang play Shostakovitch and STOPPING for the night.
