I met Terry and Don at Folsom two years ago - what a wonderful pair; precisely what I'd like to imagine I would be like as I get older,,,,, still frisky as hell, still perverted - - still living life at 110 MPH.

Then Terry lost Don suddenly to a heart attack in January. They lived in the central valley - so Terry and I have been trading letters ever since, and making sure he knew he was being cared for.

I got a call from him last week saying that he wanted to come up to the city earlier than he had hotel reservations.... so tonight KateyDog and I will sleep on the floor and Terry will be our house guest.

I last saw Terry when they were in town last spring. It'll be great to see Terry and spend the evening chatting and giving him a place to stay. I'm sure Miss Kate and Terry will bond like nothing else.

I've been at that wierd "first (enter event here)" after losing someone close to me that I'd attend events with every year. It is a necessary part of the healing process - and the choice to keep living life completely.

It's not like offering someone a place to stay is this monumental life-altering thing - - but it'll be great to see him and lend my continuing support.
