Off to the doctor this morning to get my blood drawn for HIV counts, cholesterol and other "nowthatI'moverfourty" blood tests. We're also going to discuss a mole on my face that has, since Christmas, decided to get bigger. My guess is that we'll schedule an appointment to burn/freeze it off my face. That will be fun. As often as I am at the doctor between everyday stuff, HIV and being a cancer survivor - I never have relaxed and just gone with the flow. I hate having blood drawn and I just HATE needles of any sort. so its a necessary evil.

Daylight savings time is messing with my morning person persona! I'm fine waking up early if there is sun on my window - but this temporary return to waking up in the dark really messes me up. Miss Kate has also reacted by snuggling in on my pillow and going back to sleep after I get up to shower - and not jumping down off the bed till walkies time. Soon, though - it'll be light real early and we'll both be up early by habit. I love how quiet the city is on morning walkies.... sure the buses come by and the taxis are sprinting around looking for that morning fare. I drink my morning coffee out of my ohmygodthatshuge commuter cup and Miss Kate is out on Sniffpatrol.tm Miss Kate came into my life eight going on nine years ago - and she turned me into a morning person. If I think about it - some of my best habits have come to light as a result of having the goddess in my life everyday. It's pretty darn awesome!

okay - now more delay - I'm off to the vampire.... chow!

Well - finally at the office from the vampire visit. They cut the mole off next to my right eye - and froze off six or seven other smaller "moles of interest." He said "They'll turn black and flake off in the next few days" - wow - that is an attractive top-drawer look huh? it was weird to first smell my flesh burning as he cauterized the skin where bigger mole came off with the cutting then to feel my skin burn and freeze with the 2nd procedure. We took a few vials of blood to check all my 'stuff' - and sent the mole off in a jar for a biopsy. Hopefully all my counts will come back stable (my t-cells have been in the 600-800 range for five years now) - and we'll get my first 'cholesterol and all that jazz' numbers. :)

I created a little photo montage of Dave and I together - part of a little package I'm putting together for Dave. Our first anniversary is coming up this weekend on March 14th. Yes - it is saccharin and lovey-dovey - but then anyone that knows me - knows that is how I roll.... (wink)

Kateydog took her friends Kelsey and Shadow out for a walk adventure tonight in Corona Heights and Buena Vista Parks - a lovely hour-and-a-half out and about. Michael [livejournal.com profile] bibliocub and I had a fun time chatting and being pulled along by the girls.

It was nice to spend some time outdoors after a politically hectic day at the office. It is always great when you can just stop and make time for the dogs. The get shut in all day - and it felt great to take an extra long dog walk with them and let them have an adventure.

We stopped first at the dog play area at Corona Heights, it wasn't very busy. We met a charming 4-month old puppy named Penny - who was gun shy - it being her third or fourth time ever at a dog park. She even let Miss Kate intimidate her - and Miss Kate is at the dog park more for petting from the humans than anything else.

We walked around Corona Heights and down through the playground at State Street Park and then up past the museum to the car - then rode over the Buena Vista Park. Buena Vista is closed for the most part to do erosion control and firm up the trails. So we wandered around the exterior and through the upper paths. The girls and Michael and me had a great time!
