"to taste the full spread of the joys of samsara, such as wealth and other pleasures,
is like tasting poisoned food, licking honey from a razor's edge, in short it is a jewel on the head of a rattlesnake; one touch and you are annihilated" - Shabkar

In Buddhism, samsara is the eternal cycle of suffering before enlightenment - the cycles of birth, suffering, death, and rebirth. and Shabkar (1781-1851) is a bit of a drama queen. All his quotes are the buddhist equivalent of fire and brimstone. However, he is considered by many scholars to have lived and taught the model Buddhist life. I designed an iPhone app for each of our stations here in San Francisco - and they went live today!

KOIT (Lite Rock, Less Talk)
http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=376642457&mt=8

The Wolf (Country for the Bay Area)
http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=376642134&mt=8

KDFC (Classical. And then some.)
http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=376642262&mt=8

and the best part is that they are all FREE apps!

Week 4 (6/25) - the basil is almost ready to start harvesting and the other herbs are coming right along. Next week is the first week the book says I should be able to use the basil - - six or seven weeks for the Mint and other herbs.
