Dropped Dave off at the airport this morning at 530AM - he's off to an ubermath conference in Atlanta until Thursday. I took Miss Kate to Ocean Beach up in the city and we had a sunrise walk along the ocean then a lite breakfast.

Then I drove us down Skyline Drive and we did a little hike up in the foggy trees.
Then I wound down the foothills into Palo Alto - and back home.

Now? Laundry! Loud Jazz! and streaming a football game on ESPN. :)

later? touring a new gym that just opened in downtown Palo Alto - to see about spinning classes and a few other exercise options I can't get with my home workouts.

then - a restful quiet day.... a short week! Brett septimuswarren arrives Thursday night for a quick visit on his way to a education conference - then Dave returns and then he and I are off to Portland for the A/C Square Dance Fly in weekend. My first event as a square dance widow!!

So I joined the downtown gym Vivre fitness. They have great yelp reviews as well as being voted "best in the bay" for a small gym for 2010. They also have a "weeknights" membership - (the gym is available noon to close on weekdays and unlimited weekends) - that is $50 cheaper a month than the normal fees. The membership also comes with a complimentary professional trainer session OR a massage per month. This is a nice gym for adults (avoiding the family overload the Y had; kids running around - and misusing the equipment.)

I hope to get into their weekend spinning classes - and get a more rounded workout. While I enjoyed working at home since I changed jobs? I wasn't getting to all muscle groups and I need some help taking things up a notch. I need a lot of core strength work still - and I'll enjoy the "community" atmosphere a gym provides.
