Last night I had a delightful dinner with the uniquely sexy and intelligent Woody [livejournal.com profile] nudewoody. I made swordfish in a tomato sauce and a side of oyster mushrooms and carmelized butternut squash. The squash recipe turned out amazing (if I do say so myself) - and was so easy. Simply cube up the squash and cook on medium heat in olive oil and a little garlic until carmelized, then add 1/4 cup wine and the oyster mushrooms and cover and continue to steam on low heat for about 10 minutes. then just before serving - crank up the heat and stirfry it a little - garnish with fresh ground pepper and a sprinkling of fresh raspberries right out of the cooler. and BAM! (giggle) It really was quite wonderful!

There is a veggie counter right off the J line at Church and Market called Golden Produce. And these mushrooms were fresh and perfect. I have to own up to buying precubed squash - but it was organic nonfuckedwith precubed squash - so there!

The swordfish? I pan fried in olive oil and ginger. then added stewed tomatoes, fresh ground pepper and redhotchili sauce. Fish is SO good for you - and so easy to prepare.

Woody and I had a great chat about books we like, his upcoming academic schedule, and we had a good long chat about "why do we LJ?" and other topics from a not-so-well-known law in the Virginia in early america that allowed men to create households together and be considered "families" for tax purposes to what we both want to be when we grow up to Radical Faeries to other topics.

I am so blessed to have a friend like Woody in my life. It being Woody, of course, we spent the evening nude - and it just felt relaxed and wonderful. I'm sure we'll do it again soon - I told him to bring his partners the next time. I do love cooking for friends.

Robert,
The dinner was delicious and the host was charming! Thanks so much. Now, I think a segment of Bob's Kitchen with a nude guest would be most intriguing!

Promise me you'll wear an apron during the sauteƩ step? I'd hate to hear that you'd gotten burned by oil splashes.

Together, nude? No sex? Oh my goodness...I'm glad your comfortable with that...well, you have "the" body for it too.

Um...Well have a good day...

well - as Woody would tell you - nudism isn't about having sex. Sure arousal happens occasionally - but it's not about having "the" body. It's about being comfortable with nudity.

I bet you are just as charming in the buff :)

I'm glad you got to have such a nice visit with Woody. I'd love to spend just such an evening with him, although I would *not* be the one to do the cooking! ;-) But the nude part, and talking about all the cool kinds of stuff you discussed -- that I'd like, a lot.

That old Virginia law is certainly news to me! I'd love to know more about that.

Fish is SO good for you

That's assuming you haven't found fish imported from China...
