shave and a shower

thoreauI needed to pick myself up! I took a long steamy spa shower - and used all my favorite foofy smelly bath products. Mint and Rosemary Shampoo, Oatmeal Soap and my big loofa. PG&E just made $50 on my shower hot water bill today. LOL! I cleaned house and then was getting dressed
and now I'm listening to jazz and watching the fog flow by my window as I make Italian Hamburger Stew for lunch in the crockpot.

I brown a pound of hamburger. and season it with salt and pepper, grated garlic and oregano. then put in the bottom of the crockpot including all the grease and drippings. (although with extra lean its not much - but) then I dice two red onions. I add a cup of soy, a cup of balsamic vinegar, a can of italian stewed tomatoes, a can of drained kidney beans, 2 tbsps red pepper, a healthy shake of red hot chili sauce, and today - 1/2 a package of mixed bell peppers. I cooked it on HIGH an hour without stirring - then at an hour in the crockpot on HIGH - add two cups of cooked brown rice. stir in the rice then add 1/3 cup olive oil and stir and leave on high and let it boil in the crockpot for another hour or so. If you like more "liquid" in your stew - (i like mine moist but ricey and less liquidy) - you could add some more stewed tomatoes 30 minutes or so before serving.
