I shared an evening of film - watching "American Beauty" (one of my top five of all time) with the amazingly pleasant and sexy John. (throbbin) He's off to visit family - and visit Austria for work.... and he talked about meeting a special guy recently. Wow - just a great guy. We watched the movie - and he walked with Kateydog and I to Duboce Park - which is when I spied the full moon --- and Kate and I walked around the neighborhood up through Duboce Park and around the medical center - then down Waller Street.

Then I got home and put in a CD by San Diego singer Tommy Stark.... a new online buddy - he sent me a CD - I sent him a novel. and he and I have enjoyed trading letters. He has lovely life with his partner. so again - I spend another day in awe of the kindred spirits the universe keeps introducing me to.

Then a nice email from my friend David in Australia - to which I called and left a message on his answering machine. David is doing the bear cruise to Alaska - then coming to San Francisco to hang out with me for five days - we've rented a cabin in Mendocino - and are getting out of dodge. It's going to a romantic get-a-way complete with private hottub - and of course, David will have ChefMuffin along for the ride - and Miss Kate.

I'm so glad to have met these guys!

I am puttering around the apartment - and getting ready for bed and it hits me. I'm really happy here. I love my apartment - I love my friends - It's finally here! I am experiencing a new renaissance in my life - - and it couldn't be more perfectly timed. Fall and Autumn are my favorite seasons. I'll be on the lookout for fall colours - I'll break out my sweatervests - I'll break out the crafts box and be thinking of the upcoming holidays. I am eager to go through the holiday cycle actually being able to ENJOY myself - rather than walking on eggshells or trying to please someone else. woof!

I'm about ready to head to bed - and all the windows are open - and the full moon is pushing a soft breeze through the apartment.

OMG - Tommy Stark?

I fell in love lust with him one evening in Palm Springs back in 2002 when I heard/watched him play. I would have had his children right there at the piano bar (no shame).

Thanks for a nice evening. Even if I gained 15 pounds eating that cake and gelato, it was well worth the chance to relax, meet Miss Kateydog and see a fantastic film with you!

Awww. I'm glad to have inspired you to watch again. I need to do the same . . . I love this moment in the film. Like tinman11201, I get weepy with this scene. They sit together, share the simplicity of the moment . . . she reaches out to him . . he responds with a look of surprise . . and she comforts him. It's beautiful. Intimate and peaceful.

I truly enjoy "American Beauty". I've seen it several time and every time I see it, there's something new to appreciate and/or learn.

Here's where our paths diverge.... I truly hate this time of year. Oh, I love the fall colors, but I hate being cold and having to bundle up to keep comfortable. It was so nice last year to have steam heat because I just cranked those radiators to wide open and enjoyed sauna like temperatures in my aparment. Oh, and the Holidays...... don't get me going there.

That being said, I'm truly glad and thankful that you've "arrived" - you're there and you're happy. What a wonderful feeling.
