My friend Christopher [livejournal.com profile] scream4noreason in Sydney Melbourne commented in my journal today,

"I used to really enjoy the posts where you just walked around outdoors and took heaps of piccies. Now I know youre in a more urban environment but Id love to see your corner of SF!"

So here it is! My friend Rockey and I - and Miss Kate the wonder terrier - took a sunset stroll through my neighborhood

I used the Picasa Web Gallery - be sure to click on the "Google Map" feature as it's let me drag out copies of the photos and show you exactly where we were on the street. TOO DAMN NEATO FOR WORDS!

Those are GREAT! I love the bok choy photo. Very organic and fluid. Sometimes B&W does so much more than color photographs can do :)

"I remember the big white house on Steiner Street, and my little sister Dagmar, and my big brother Nels, and Papa. But most of all, I remember mama

but do you remember the 50s is the more important question.

I've been alive forever, and I wrote the very first post.
I put the words and the sentences together,
I am muse like and I write the posts. ...

Of course I remember the 50s. Peggy Wood went on to star as the Mother Superior in the Sound of Music

But..most of all...I remember Mama..I remember the whole family gathering before our 12" b&w Tv to watch the latest adventures on Steiner Street....and now, through you...I connnect with my past (sigh)

Those pics are wonderful. It finally answers my curiosities about what kind of "neighborhoods" does SF have (I know not to judge everything by the Castro). I love the feel and warmth of where you are living.

Duboce Park is the next neighborhood "down" from the Castro and has a whole other feel. It really feels like a little town within the city which is why I love it so much. BIG trees, lovely little shops and cafes everywhere - and of course, the big park. and Kateydog and I can hop on the Nline and be in Golden Gate Park in three stops! :)
