RNM Restaurant - Haight and Steiner in SF

My favorite restaurant in my neighborhood is RNM Restaurant. I've taken Tommy and Morgan there - and splurge on a night out there once a paycheck. Not that it's all that expensive - but my budget calls for choosing my dining out nights carefully.

I need to save clams for:

• Barracuda Sushi (So much Saki - so little time)
• Zuni (burgergasm!)
• and the occasionally fine-food megasplurge at Absinthe or Greens.

What I like about RNM is that it's unassuming - and their food is simple but flavorgasmic. Their Fiscalini Cheddar Mac and Cheese is better than sex - and I'm not exxagerating. They serve fresh salads and entrees that are simply out of this world. and the setting is nice too - very elegant and modern. It's hardly what you'd expect alongside the pizza joints and bagelries that dot the Lower Haight.

Anyhow - if you are looking a new taste treat to add to your San Francisco restaurant list.

I heard from a friend that is a great place.

When i was in SF, several years ago.. i was at Zuni... i loved it omg.. it was soooo good... Thanks for the memories :)

Damn I really wish I could come. But (1) I have already missed a lot of work due to vacation travel this year, (2) I'm blowing extra money for a weekend getaway next week and (3) my ex will be at Folsom and I like the idea of not being in the same city as him as often as possible.

But I have a good friend in SF that I visit regularly, so I'm sure we will meet before too long.

My friends all know that a Zuni burger with the gruyere, gorgonzola, AND grilled onions, one of their Caesar salads, a bloody Mary and the espresso granita is to be my last meal. Or, what the hell, maybe the roast chicken so I can live 45 minutes longer.
