It is not often you receive a birthday invitation like the one I received from my workout-partner David. He turns 50 today. It says:
libations at 7. ritual at 8. cake at 9. late party at 10. Come witness. Participate
I'm going over to help him set up, then meet his friends for the party. I know that a few LJers will be there, some of my favorite in fact (Robby, Fish and Growler). so - I'm off for a good time.
Shout out to my brother Drew who is doing a reception tonight for his new set of short stories! Go Drew Go!
David emailed from Australia to say he's down hard with a chest infection. Not the best way to spend his first weekend back home. He returns to work tomorrow - and he's hoping the antibiotics will start doing their job. Poor bagel bear!
Spent the afternoon housecleaning and working around the apartment - rearranging a few things. Putting some new art out - and putting some art away. it's nice to have enough stuff to rotate things out occasionally. I have 30 new photos I ordered from Shutterfly to put up on the photo wall in the entry and a friend is giving me a box of small frames which is very nice of him. Pictures include all sorts of adventures from the past nine months - and some new friends. I love my photo wall.
