oh gosh I forgot how much I dislike dark mornings. I got up to go to the gym this morning in the dark - and i've been home, showered and checked morning emails - and just NOW is the sun rising. I just fed Miss Kate. complete with French waiter impression (i blame
septimuswarren)
"We 'ave a nice. vite. rice. vehhhhhrrrrry nice. vehhhhhhrrrrry light. prrrfect for a sensuhtive pal ette."
She had some rice - and doesn't seem to care much for cottage cheese. But I'm hoping as she eats and gains strength she'll become more accepting of the cottage cheese as it's protein! (oh my god I sound like Tommy!)
I have been sitting here with my bowlo'kona watching the sunrise become early morning - - the colours are fantastic - -
The sleep I haven't really been getting this week is catching up a little bit. Saturday is going to be a SERIOUS loaf day if I have anything to say about it.
on another note - I've been reading John Muir's My First Summer in the Sierra - recommended me to a friend on a thoreau-list. Muir is the western equivalent of Thoreau (HDT being my somewhatsortakinda obsessive mentor from literature and history). Muir felt very strongly that the best way to empower people to want to protect the wild places of the earth was to get them out to enjoy them. It's got me breaking out maps and seeing if I might plan some hikes on the Muir Trail next spring and summer. Muir's little book is very similiar to Walden by Thoreau as it's simulataneously diary and pulpit-on-a-page. (etext here if you are interested)
well - best get showered and into work. I stopped by the Body Shop yesterday and stocked up on Bergamot Bath Gel and a lotion bar from Lush. (kelly voice)Lotion Bars Rule!(end kelly voice)
