Pete pulsecub asked about my tattoo project. It's on hold till I get caught up from the economics of my last week with kateydog in the hospital. but it is healing up really nicely.





as I thought it's just getting sexier as the hair grows back in - of course, it'll all get shaved when I save up the greenbacks to go get the colouring done; but that's looking like it'll be past the holidays at this point.

Not yet. I keep thinking of getting one, but my partner and I can't agree on one. I prefer a very graphic sort of eagle/thunderbird, but he prefers more of a military look eagle. I would also like to get a Celtic knot, but he says they are a fad that I would regret.

Well, when it comes to tattoos, I recommend going with what you like, not with what someone else likes. Not to disparage your relationship, but it's your body and whatever you put on it will stay with you for the rest of your life, so it needs to mean something to you and it has to be something you'll want to look at for the rest of your life too.

But I highly recommend them. :)

September 30th was my 40th birthday. I chose to mark the occasion by going through a ritual of tattooing. I marked myself with the "Segahalie Sgaana xaaydagaay" - or Wolf of the Ocean. It is a Haida glyph of the orca killer whale. It was an intense - (not completed until the colouring) - way to celebrate the beginning of my 5th decade in a deeply personal fashion.

My fascination with the Haida/Tlingit cultures goes back to my childhood - and was rekindled in the research I did for my first novel "HOUSE OF WOLVES" - which was released from IUniverse Press on May 1, 2007. In it, a man is introduced to a communal, gay, all-male household where he learns the importance of honor, companionship, spirituality, erotic desire and brotherhood.
