Ruth Akawa is an art-hero of mine. Her work is ASTOUNDING. They put up a set of her works in the tower lobby and Joe caught this shot.

I don't always like Ruth Asawa's work (especially some of her commissions, but I do love the "Contours in the Air" wire pieces.

I love that fountain!!!! and stop by there every.single.time I'm in the city.

It's not my favorite fountain of hers; I like the one at the Hyatt and the one in Japantown more.

It clearly has a fan in you, though--so I promise to look at it with fresh eyes the next time I am in Ghirardelli Square! :)
