Very good looking Xmas letter - I can only manage a simple Word doc, converted to a pdf. But, I guess that's why you're a successful webby guy in SF!

Very nice beach pix.... :-)

its the content - not necessarily the layout. I do like to flex da skills though when I can. :) I am pretty stoked to be a successful webby guy in SF. (giggle) and thanks for the note on the beach pix. :)

Absolutely agree re the content - your letter was a nice fusing of form and function: from the difficult times you had at the beginning of the year, through finding a job that you're enjoying, through to the excitement of your book being published - and it looked great, too.... :-)

methinks - no scratch that - I KNOW - you and Roy would have a grand time here. I know a certain mini-driving tourguide who would LOVE to play that role for you two.

Thanks Neil - as I told Joe - it was really quite something to sit down and write all that out and realize that, despite the Rickisodetm I had quite the year. Yay!

Here's to us both finding a great new path in 2008!

it really was a great excercise to sit and think about all the great things that happened this year - despite the whole Rickisodetm. Thanks Joe!

in grey - my sentiment is that it should be a spirit on my body - not a statement but part of me. so I have opted with a design that is less red. I know that blacks and greys are not traditional. but it truly falls in the vein of my intent. to have the seawolf be a spirit - lurking - waiting. protecting.

check this morning's "friends only" post - that gives you a clearer look at what I mean.

I saw that. I haven't posted there yet since it has left me rather speechless.

I understand about the grays. Mine are a bit more traditional in colour but that's just me.

My artist (Bart Willis (http://www.bartwillis.com)) has done a number of tats in that style. He was inking this one (http://www.bartwillis.com/images/gallery/pacificcoast/images/pacificcoast0014.jpg) when I walked into his shop.

Leave it to a graphic artist to post a Christmas letter as a graphic. Doh! ("Your downloadable fonts can't save you now!" I hear you cackling at me.) Great design, BTW.

As for the content, the astonishing candor, the economy of expression, and the delightful tone struck a perfect chord. Big hugs and love to you as move move forward into an even better year in 2008.

And me? I am lucky to have you crossing the river ahead of me, showing me which rocks to hop on, and which treacherous spots to avoid. You have been such a strength and help to me this year.

All my best...
