Rick (aka The Rickisode^tm) and John (the new boyfriend) came in the bookstore just now - and I was working the info desk. and he asked about a book about ceramic tile - and I had "I can help you with that, Sir" out of my mouth before I turned to see who it was. It went okay. John is a lot more handsome than his profile photos - it was refreshing to see him in a social environment rather than running into them in the sexclub naked like back in June. I feel real good about how it went.

Rick actually came back while John did some more shopping and we had a nice chat. He checked in on Kateydog. We talked about Andy's (bootedintexas) visit for my birthday - and how great Andy was doing on weight watchers! It was interesting because Rick said "sometimes - even when you think a gift is a negative thing it turns out to be a great thing in the end."

Funny - how I'm sure he didn't think he was talking to me about him breaking up with me. But in the end - no matter how negative it was or still feels sometimes - it was absolutely a great thing in the end. It's allowed me to spend the last year growing in entirely new ways - - and find a whole new path.

He winked at me. I sold him a Robert Sabuda Pop-up Book.

I think honestly think there is hope that Rick and I might be friends one day. He's so god-damned charming. so god-damned charming. and still so very beautiful.

but - alas - not for me. not yet.

Curiously - on the overhead - is the remix CD of The Pet Shop Boys I Don't Know What You Want But I Can't Give It Anymore

yeah - I've been working holiday retail at a bookstore in the Castro. :) it' been fun - but it'll be over in a week or so.

I barely know John, honestly - I mean - everything I know about John is what other folks have told me about his history and personality. I think John is cute - and they make a handsome pair. Does that mean I think they are any less impulsive and self absorbed? , no. :)
