wow! - the fall ratings book came in (Sept to Dec) and KDFC (the classical station) is now #3 in the market with listeners 35-54. thats friggin' HUGE in the numbers department! The #1 station is KOIT - the lite rock station in our cluster. and #2 is KGO - a successful talk radio station.

in other news? Work gave me a free pass to MacWorld. I've never heard of this - can someone tell me what "MacWorld" is?

WHAT IS MACWORLD? OMG. you have to be kidding.

it is like the APPLE VERSION OF WOODSTOCK.

Steve Jobs gives the STATE OF THE MAC address, and premieres all the new toys.

ok look at the machine on your desk at work. Notice how streamlined and wonderful it is.

Now, look at that silver birthday present i gave you. Notice how streamlines and wonderful it is.

Ah - on to MacWorld. Let's see if they convert you or not. My guess is no. The pinnacle of this event is Steve Job's Keynote address, which will appear on iTunes - if you want to be famous, toss a pie in his face as soon as he says "iPhone".

I have a G5 Mac on my desk here at work - I was just pulling the chain of the Mac purists. (as my comments show - would react with BHWA?!)

Macworld 2008 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, if it was any closer to you. you are surrounded. Resistance is useless.

Just think of it as the ultimate Geek Lovefest. Just as much fun as an orgy without the overhead of sex. Did your work give you a pass to the party tonight at the Westfield?

it has something to do with Scots or some pasta and cheese dish i think

oh - a mac and cheese festival! Rock on! No wonder work sent me!? (Mac and Cheese is probably true - considering the true nature of the event! brilliant, Josh!)

Your brother beat me to it. MacWorld is a Mac geek con kind of a thing.

Unless of course you were being sarcastic about not knowing what MacWorld was. :-)

MacWorld is clearly some sort of apple event. They probably have showcases of apple pies, cobblers and the like. Be sure to eat up lots of yummy samples and post recipes when you get a chance.

Bob's Kitchen research! [livejournal.com profile] enhydrasf suggested it was a Mac And Cheese Festival. (which is probably true even when we're talking about the real reason for the event)

I'm going to hear about new applications and such for work. but if you follow the link in Kiltbears journal - you can get in for $25

Date: 2008-01-15 06:58 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] rampagebear.livejournal.com
Yeah, $25 just to do what I can do at the Apple Store, walk around and look at Mac products, pass.

Macworld is the celebration of the ultimate marketing triumph, in which Apple gets several major news outlets to unwittingly do all of their advertising for them. Read the sites and newspapers tonight, and you'll see ads for new Apple products, complete with pricing and availability, under the "news" section.

I believe you misunderstood them. The pass is most likely for MackWorld. From what I understand, having a pass gets you on all the rides for free.

Mack
