art: ok... here's an idea

For my art piece for the art show in denver this summer - I'd like to decoupage and glue paper a dress form mannequin with pictures of those body parts on LJers. e.g. - the face and head would be plastered with actual photos of faces, the chest pictures of actual chests clothed and unclothed, and so on. I'm pretty sure I can pull off a photo transfer to paper I'd then glue and decoupage onto the mannequin. If you are interested in being one of the photo subjects for the mannequin person project. Please comment - every few weeks I'll put out a call for "photos" - and then once I get them - decoupage them on - then take photos of the progress. then animate that progress into a movie - that I'll wire into the middle of the mannequin's chest as a animated heart. Who's game? If you participate - Your LJ name would appear somewhere on the mannequin or in the animation - we might even - since we're making a movie - include interview questions from each participant in the piece.

I can't possibly explain what my penis was thinking..... but since it's been making decisions for me for the last 40 years or so anyway, I might as well let it make this decision, too.

Um....I hate to be a buzzkill, but how are you going to get it here? I would think that a piece like that would be terribly fragile and BIG - I'm sure it would cost a fortune to send.

Very good...keep in mind, though, that I'm not sure at this point if the show is even going to happen: I've got about 16 artists onboard right now, but I'll need at least a total of 25 for it to be a viable option. I'll be sending another invite out around late March/early April to see if I can scare up some more art folks.

Your idea is truly unique - I'd love to see it come to fruition - on the other hand, I don't want you to work so hard and then there not be a show. Of course, you could always just make it and have a kick-ass piece of art for yourself!
